Aunt Lou here.

Michael and I found an amazing deal on some pork butt roast. When we were talking about what we wanted to do with it, I knew that this One-Pot Crock Pot Pork Dinner would be perfect! My kids devoured the veggies! Ryder was stealing carrots off of everyone’s plates!

One-Pot Crock Pot Pork Dinner Notes:

  • You can adapt how many carrots and potatoes you use. When we make this again, I am going to add more veggies. More potatoes and a ton more carrots. If I can get my kids to devour veggies, I am going to add all of them I can fit in the crock pot!
  • I used good ol’ Cera (my6 Quart Crock Pot with Ceramic Coated Pot) and it worked perfectly! With as much meat and veggies as this recipe provides, I would use a 6 quart or larger. If you don’t need quite as much food at your house, you can completely cut the size of the meat and add as few or many veggies as you want!

Try using a dry pork gravy mix, Or two, or ?, anyway mix it with some chicken broth and use that for some liquid, makes a ready made gravy 🙂

Someone already asked this, but never got an answer. Could you use a pork tenderloin for this? Thanks so much for any help you can give me. 🙂

Love the sound of this recipe and can’t wait to try it. Somehow, the pork I have been buying lately is totally void of taste. Must be something I’m doing but will definitely try this one.

    Just want to make sure…..
The roast looks like it was browned before putting it in but it doesn’t state that in the directions. How does it get so brown ? Kitchen Bouquet ?
    And no liquid ?
    Love getting your emails !
    Thanks,

      Hi Dottie!

I’m so glad you love the emails! We love hearing that people enjoy all the things we do around here!

It actually was not browned, just put fat side up in the crock pot, as well as seasoned with the spices in the recipe. Since the meat has a good fat content, it creates its own juices, but if you use a leaner meat or if you are just not comfortable with not adding in the liquid, you can add in a cup of water. Enjoy!

      Hi Barbara!

I haven’t tried it with a pork tenderloin, but think it could work. Watch it closely the first time you make it in case the cooking time varies. Enjoy!

      Hi Lee!

My roast had a good fat content, so we tried it without water and loved it! However, if you have a leaner cut of meat, or are nervous about not adding any water, you could always add a cup of water and it shouldn’t take away from the flavoring of the meat. Enjoy!

      Hi Paula!

For this recipe, we had a meat with a good fat content, so we tried it without water, and it worked out wonderfully. However, if you have a leaner cut of meat, or are nervous about not adding any water, you could always add a cup of water and it shouldn’t take away from the flavoring of the meat. Enjoy!

I really like the sound of this one! I just purchased my first electric pressure cooker. I’ve done lots of stove top pressure cooking but this is a new venture. Could this recipe be adapted? Appreciate all your recipes.

      Hi Barbara!

We have started adapting recipes for an electric pressure cooker, but have not done this specific recipe yet. You can find the recipes we have done so far here: http://www.recipesthatcrock.com/?s=electric+pressure+cooker. If you give it a try, let us know how it turns out! Enjoy!
